986 seat side bulsters killing me:

Tried a few searches and couldn't come up with any information on this. I recently purchased my old 1997 986 back from the folks I sold it to about 4-5 years ago. Pretty neat to have the little Boxster back again. Also neat they saved all the records, including everything I did to it while I owned it. The only thing that has changed is the drivers seat side bolsters are very close together. I'm a pretty slender guy, but the lady who drive it the past 4-5 years is much thinner than I am an these side bolsters are killing my ribs.

I've looked and cannot locate a way to adjust these? It seems like they have been pulled "in". The passenger seat isn't nearly as close together.

Any help would be appreciated, the back side of my ribs would also appreciate it.

I have never heard of such a problem. Sounds like something to talk over with an auto upholstery shop. Maybe they have ways of fixing this without pulling the seat covers off, like special tools to stretch back the bolsters.
This other lady who drove your car must have had the seat pulled all the way forward and really dug into the padding.

If the seat covers come loose at the bottom, in the rear of the seat it allows the side bolsters to spread wider. I imagene this is how they were while you owned the Box & the next owners tightened the seat covers to the original configuration. There are some large plastic clips near the rear of the slider brackets, if they are taken loose the bolsters loosen also. (spread wider)
