I'm seriously considering an oil extractor pump for my TDI Touareg (Tow Pig). Does anyone use an extractor on their 986? Seems like a clean easy way to do oil changes without pulling the plug.

Any recommendations for an extractor? "Mityvac 7201 Fluid Evacuator Plus" is what I'm thinking.

I have a recommendation: DO NOT USE AN EXTRACTOR, change the oil the way it was designed to be changed.

Over the years, we have had numerous Porsche's flat bedded to the shop because someone got the tube down into the sump, and then could not get it out. There are just too many edged surfaces that can catch and trap an extraction tube, making it impossible to pull out from the top. When that happens, the sump cover has to come off and the tube pulled out from the bottom. Bad idea.

Thanks great advice guys what do we think about this: https://www.amazon.ca/Lumax-LX-1632-Black-Drainmaster-Storage/dp/B0059HJSA2?

The 8 inch opening looks a little small to me. Too small for comfort?

Any thoughts on the best 1042 filter wrench?
