Actually it'd be great if you can send us picture of the damage in the DME to see if you will need a repair or a replacement.

Hi all,
I finally established that my DME was not water damaged but that the solenoid for the variable cam adjuster , cylinders 1 ----3 short circuited internally. This caused t damage to two drivers on the DME. The combination of the above caused the actuator to open normally but not to close properly . The result was the valve timing on bank 1 was out of spec and that resulted in the engine misfire at idling .
I had the DME repaired but am now looking for a replacement solenoid.
Any suggestions where I can find a replacement solenoid? Boxster 986 2.5 engine

The misfiring on Bank 1 was caused by a faulty solenoid for the variable cam adjuster cylinders 1 ---3. The faulty solenoid caused damage to the DME A local electronic expert was able to effect the necessary repairs to the DME.
I now need to find a replacement solenoid. Any suggestions?
