Brake fluid - ATE vs Pentosin
So far I've alternated between ATE gold and blue. It's time for gold and I can't find any ATE locally. I'm assuming as long as what I use is DOT4 I should be ok, but please correct me if I'm wrong in using Pentosin DOT4LV.

Look for ATE 200, which is the gold product. The blue product has been withdrawn from the market because of the blue color (your tax dollars in action).

So that's a NO on the Pentosin? The ATE isn't available locally.

The Pentosin does not hold up as well as the ATE 200, but is still a decent product. If you can't get the ATE off the web fast enough, you can use the Pentosin, just keep an eye on the moisture level build up.

Thanks JFP. Keep in mind that your poor cousins north of the 49th are 2nd class citizens when it comes to having liquids shipped across the border. Our tax dollars at work...

+1.
Do you have Advanced Auto locally our stores do carry the ATE-200. OR try Motul RBF600

I recently went to the motul 600 and amazon prime actually has about the same price as mist folks, where the ATE200 is about twice as much there. Pentosin super dot 4 is good fluid, it seems pretty close in specs to Porsche OEM.brake fluid, and some say it is the same. I think I compared specs and the boiling temps were lower though. I run it in my Toyota FJ Cruiser (it was on sale at r o c k a u to I think when I ordered some stuff)

Are you tracking your car?
If so, Motul 600 is a good choice. ~$15/500ml on amazon
ATE 200 is more than sufficient for street use and some use it at the track (no many though)
There are others as well and if you really want the best, Castrol RBF ~ $75/liter
