Racing Seats in my early Boxster Street Car

I just got a great deal on a pair of Recaro Pole Position seats. I want to install them in my 1997 Boxster that is primarily a street car, but I also use it for autocross. I really need to find out what I'm going to do about seatbelts when I install my nice new racing seats. I guess this is only an issue because I do not want to install racing harnesses, and I've decided against deleting the SRS. So, what I'm asking you, is how to make normal, DOT 3pt safety belts work effectively with seats that were designed for racing harnesses? Some Porsches, like the early 996 GT3 and 993 RS have done so (successfully, I presume, as they were street legal and had racing seats w/o harnesses)

The OEM 3-pt seats will work reasonably well with racing seats. There really isn't any special secret. The 3-pt belt will come over the shoulder and seat normally and buckle into the stock receptacle.

The only issue that I had was that the side of the racing seat was a little taller than the stock seat so I had to carefully insert the belt into the receptacle on the right hand side (it had to be lined up just right to go in).

You will find that your butt will drag across the left side bolster and wear rather quickly along with having to lift your butt up to get out over the tall left side of the seat. Nothing major, I had this setup for at least a year and liked it quite a bit.

I raised my seat belt receptacle using the schroth rallye ends to extend it on the mounting end, I'll see if I can find a link and pic. Before that I had a short 6" flexible seat belt extender that helped. Otherwise buckling the seat belt was tough... Brey Krause also sells a seat belt receptacle end extender for the mounting end. Once that was sorted the seat belts were great. For the bolster I got some synthetic leather bolster protecters from eBay seller bobointhailand, ill find a picture of that too.
