Cat bypass pipes

Has anyone installed Cat bypass pipes? I see the O2 sensors are located at both the intake and outlet sides of the CATs?

If you delete the only set of cats on a 2.5, needless to say, the vehicle will be rendered non-emmisions compliant, along with CEL's.

My Honda Civic didn't throw any codes when I tried a bypass. Are you saying the 2.5l will throw codes?

Since the 2.5 only has one set of cats, unless you remap the ECU, it will not only trigger a CEL, but it will cause the vehicle to fail emissions/inspection.

I have straight pipes on my 97 2.5 race car. It will almost definitely throw a CEL if you remove the cats and it will fail emissions.

For a street car you aren't going to gain much by pulling the cats, you will probably lose some low end torque in exchange for some top end HP, not a good trade off unless you are WOT all the time.

68 mercury Cougar with 230,000 miles. Needless to say I ended up rebuilding the car. When you are a kid with some skills and little money you work with what you got. Made fats in a straight line but never handled for much even thought I did do some suspension work.
