It just looks so top heavy, ready to tip. Doesn't look to be well anchored. But, if it is stable...it would be great to have.

This is a well designed lift. It has 5- 3/4" anchors in each base plate. A hydralic lift motor works on 110 - 120 VAC. There are 3 pin secured heights where a 3/4" rod can be passed throught the entire frame so you are not depending on the hydraulic rams to hold the load. The car weight is 2900 # the hoist lifts and holds 6000#. There is no wobble or motion of any type with even a 4800# truck on the lift. The Car was on the lift 3 days while the clutch, fly wheel, pressure plate, IMS, RMS, Plugs, coils, and other work was done. I have since used it to work on my Pick up truck and wife car and feel very secure while working around the lift. You can use it in a garage with a 8' ceiling but you may not be able to extend it totally. You must have 4" of concrete in you floor. I was pleasently suprised that there was between 5" and 6" in my garage floor.
