That is the Mercedes version which 2 screws on the side.

That may very well be - I do not dispute what you're saying. But, it works great... at about half the cost.

I've been using the spring loaded clamp type and it works fine for me. You can work the angles really well and you just flip it over to tighten the filter (see what works for you).

OK, easy & cheap way out, Pepboys Oil filter wrench A251 $3.99.
Works like a charm....
It is 76mm, 14 flute wrench and it works great. I have torqued my filter twice with it.
It is in a floor of my garage because I just used it day before yesterday. If you want pics, I can get them for ya tomorrow.
