I've got 56000 on my 01 and am thinking just for preventitive maintenance I ought to replace it. Is the belt like tires... gets bad just from age? If so, I think I probably need to change it soon. Especially, given the apparent ease of doing so. ok ok... so I'll go look it up in the owners manual. Practical advise would be appreciated though!

I highly recommend that any DIYer buy a copy of the Bentley publications Boxster service manual.
