Track car officially a racer today

Today, it became official. My once glorified DE car has been transformed into a race car. Had it's Logbook tech inspection and annual as well. First race is in a month a VIR, can't wait!!

Weight?

ITR? Minimum weight 2830 lbs with driver, right? So 180 lbs more than Spec Boxster?

Minimum weight for E Production Boxster is 2555, or 95 lbs less than Spec Boxster.

The SCCA also recently approved the Boxster for STU.

In EP, you can eliminate a lot of drag:

Thanks guys, really looking forward to the first event in March. Will be my first racing in 12 years!!
Greg the weight for the Box in R is 3050# Not sure where they got that # but it's crazy heavy! I'll have to look into STU, was not aware of the change.

Chris, STU is a higher level than EP, and would probably cost more to be competitive in. STU is allowed wings and slicks, for example. Track records in STU are a few seconds less than in EP. For example, at Thunderhill they are 1:56.6 and 1:58.8. Both are a lot faster than SPB though, at about 2:04.

Are you going back to the Zone 2 VIR 3 Day event? If so I'll see you there.

Probably not. My limited schedule will only allow for a few weekends a year, so racing will be the focus. I may from time to time pop in to visit with friends or instruct one of my local PCA people but DE is probably over for me for the foreseeable future.
