Drew: I see you are in Houston and I am too. It may be prudent for you to come over to my house and we talk about Boxsters and what can be done to them to "deamber" and the associated costs.

As far as getting more HP out of the car, you'll waste a lot of money getting 10hp or 20hp out of the motor with exhaust and underdrive pully upgrades and it still won't beat a lot of cars off the line. If that's what you want, buy a 911 Turbo or save yourself piles of cash and get a Mustang GT or an older Corvette. Trust us on this one.

The problem for you and me in particular is we live in a place that is hot, flat, and there are very few twisty roads. A Boxster is designed for mountain roads or cruising around SOCAL where it's nice and cool, even in the summer. The bragging rights of saying you own a Porsche is very short lived when the freaking car will cost you $2,000 or more a year just to keep running...
