the 3.4 gets around 88 hp/l while the 3.2 gets 7.8. yet the 3.2 and 3.4 have the same bottom end, cams, cooling, etc. so, the power is getting left on the table with intake, exhaust and tune (as everyone says the 3.2 heads flow very well).

possible best power would be the 3.4's 88 hp/l which would but the 3.2 at around 280 hp - 30 hp gain. easiest/cheapest way - put second-hand 996 3.4 parts on the 3.2.

exhaust: can't do it given the different engine orientations, but there are some good, inexpensive aftermarket solutions out there.

intake: 996/997 plenum is cheap and easy. 996/997 throttle body is cheap and easy. 987 airbox is cheap and easy. 996 intake manifold (with 987 engine cover for clearance) is more work but possible (and cheap).

tune: aftermarket (big $) but folks are working on using a 987 maf housing and pushing a 996 tune onto the car (cheap); hope to have some result on that shortly.

if it all works then that's potentially 30 hp for say $1k. another 5 hp for $200 with a udp. dunno if $35/hp is worth it to you.
