Rennline.
They can cloud up your paint finish if left on too long....especially after weekend on a rain soaked track

A heavy coat of wax sometimes make them fall off the car at speed.

I used e-decal to order my numbers. Took them about four days and all was good

I am dealing with black so it's a bit touchy.
You need a very clean surface to put them on
You can wax before and waxing after will decloud. I had my numbers on many days so this may not be a problem. A couple of washing cycles and all was fine.......all this with heavy rain.
Heat up the numbers with a hair drier prior to application.

Getting ready for the 2 Nov auto-x at Qualcom?
I expect to make those this time.
Have to redo my Tech sheet for the new exhaust, 2nd cat delete.
Sure makes the throttle more responsive.
Ive seen folk have their magnetic numbers fall off, so you need the best quality, strongest magnet type you can find.

Instead of magnetic numbers, I'd suggest using vinyl stick-on/peel-off numbers. Yes, they are one-time use, but they are cheap, won't damage your paint, and won't fall off. They go on in less than a minute and come off just as fast. Any local sign store should be able to create them for you, no reason to use an expensive "racing" online store. Mine cost $1 a sheet. I'd be glad to send you a sheet (with number 254) if you wanted to evaluate them and try installation/removal for yourself.

I was think of getting background squares magnetic , and magnetic numbers .
Hoping having double would stop them falling off ...
But I like your idea better .
There is a sign shop within walking distance .
Ill go see them on Monday !!
If they can't help ill get in touch with the guy who made the boxster side stripes .
Thanks for the tip tom .

I called at the sign shop after work yesterday but they where shut .
I thought about it last night and I'm thinking of getting the same style and colour numbers for both cars then it will be easier to make new numbers should one car not be allowed to use its number .

You can not use the "driver #" on the PCA Zone 8 Car Class
They use some other source for assigning numbers, not sure where.
A few new folks bought numbers based on the Car Class system and were surprised to find those numbers are not valid at PCASDR events.
They should give you your permanent number at an Auto-X event.
Also, in case you did not know, when you create your car using the above link, in the "My Car" page, you can use the "Car Info PDF" (PDF) link to print a Tech Inspection sheet already filled out with all your info.
Very Convenient and impossible to lose.

Afaik your local region will honor your pca number and other regions will as long as its not taken by a member attending .
I requested the number when I booked the next two sd events on the advice of one of the locals and he suggested they'll add a 1 if its not available that day .
This is perfect as Debbie's number is 13 , so I can just steal one of her 1s
