Wheel studs
Is there some way for me to figure out how much a wheel stud will pertrude from wheel?
I do not run spacers on a 02 Box.
For example, how far would 90mm stick out beyond the outer face of the lug nut?
Thanks.

I don't understand the question. Take that sketch and show the length...

Yeah sorry, not that clear. I was trying to figure out how much further certain mm lug nuts would stick out than the standard lug bolt. Anyhow, I just went ahead and bought some, I’ll report back later with the dimensions after the install.

It the bolts are longer than stock but you're running stock wheels, you might run into issues trying to torque them or the bolt might thread too deep inside the hub. I destroyed my e-brake assembly on a BMW E36 doing so one time anyway

i guess he doesnt realize this car does not use studs and lug nuts , they use bolts. he will realize it as soon as he spins off the first bolt lol.
And since the hub is threaded and designed to hold a bolt, i'm not sure how he is going to install press in Studs if that is his desire.
I guess what his real question is, with the standard bolt, how far does the bolt threads extend past the hub face on the inside of the hub ?

I think that You misunderstood the question. Screw in studs are a thing and lots of track car Boxsters use them.

The answer will vary slightly depending on which wheels and which brand of stud. Mine have a significant spacer, so I didn't have an easy reply.

well for starters, studs thread into the hub, they are not press-in.

You need the studs to be longer than the bolts. The lig nuts should show at least 1.5 threads when tight

Why? Why does any of this/that matter? What are you trying to achieve? Lug nut length? I'm lost. Can you clarify any purpose?

he's converting his car from using wheel bolts to using studs... aka track studs aka race studs. This is not to be confused w traditional rear press-in lug nut studs (in traditional applications w American cars, etc). Instead these bolt into wheel hub from front side and then lug nuts are used to secure wheel to the stud. They facilitate easier / faster wheel swaps as well as provide better/quicker visual inspection to ensure wheels are firmly secured. And thus why they are typically known as track-studs, race-studs, competition studs, et al.
His question, to help familiarize others, is how far 90mm race studs would protrude... yes past the new lug nuts but also in relation to face of wheel. Is OP doing for aesthetics or tracking often - who knows but sounds like they have a plan and good for them.
Good luck!

I thought this post was dead. I used 45mmin the back and 60mm for the front were like spikes on a chariot. I returned the 60’s and
am waiting for 45’s to arrive.
I have a stock 02 S with Gen 1 18” Cayman wheels.
