I know, but I have also heard of them kind of exploding when they snap and in theory could get stuck in a precarious position that would lock it in place. Again, just theorizing from some incidents I've read about

A broken clutch assist spring can definitely stick the pedal on the floor. It happened to me and there are other documented occurrences here (along with replacement tips, how they work and specs for different rate replacement springs). They don’t work the way it would first appear.
