So it's ok to let the oil sit during the winter months (3-4 months), when it comes out of storage you just fire her up and way you go? The oil won't degrade or break down during those months?

Well not as simple as that but close. Read this thread:
Winter Storage

Contains both the before and after storage recommended procedure, written by Jim (MNBoxster) who has been storing sports cars during cold MN winters for years.

check this out. i stored my car in october, kinda early i know. i washed it, waxed it took off the rims, put a cover over it. and this past week...i began to miss my boxster....soooooo it's now out of storage, and i'm gonna drive it on nice days.

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aa so happy!
