I had the same problem with a cracked head. It was a very scary thought to pull the engine but there was a lot of documentation about doing it so I did it. Take your time and take lots of pictures it's not that bad. The engine timing thing is kind of daunting but in the end not that difficult. I had the heads pressure tested locally then sent to Hoffman Engineering, they are fantastic. Mine was due to core shift so with a very small amount of extra aluminum we wouldn't be having this problem. I was 59 years old and did it all by myself.
