Fall is here. How long will you go topless?

When I got my Boxster, I told myself I wouldn't drive it below 50ºF with the top down. Broke that rule first chance I got. Funny how really cold and sunny seems a *lot* warmer than kinda cold and cloudy.

How cold do you all let it get before you put the top up?

Till last week of October.

With our seat warmers, great heaters, and windstop, these cars are great in cold/cool weather.

The back of my neck can get cold, so a rolled up towel (like Rocky Balboa) works great. Sometimes I wear my orange & blue Bears knit hat.

I don't typically put the top down when temp is <55 f. because of the plastic window. If I can get the window in the sun for a bit then I'll put it down in 50 - 55
I have driven with it down around 40 - 45 f. Then it is like eating the super hot wings, not necessarily all that enjoyable, just manly

I do not put the top up or down below 70° F unless the car has been in the sun. Not worth the risk of cracking the plastic window.

I saw someone in NJ this morning with their top down in a Volvo. Looked as silly as this!

My soft top goes up and down all time

....during the spring, summer and fall. But the hardtop goes on in November and off in April. I love it, especially in rain. So much quieter and I don't get that damp clammy feeling I do with a soft top.

In Dallas, it's not "How cold do you all let it get before you put the top up?", it's "How cold do you all let it get before you put the top down?

It finally got "cold" enough to dip below 90 degrees, so I took the hardtop off two weeks ago and have been driving the Box topless. I'll put the hardtop back on around March or April, when the Big Heat comes back. If it rains in between, I just raise the canvas.

Just sayin'.............

Similar here in Phoenix. Hard top goes on in early June and comes off in late September.

If you drive fast enough, the rain doesn't get in the cabin!

Top down time is here (in Tucson.) I won't put it down if the temp is above 90 or so.

But then my 01 is a project and I'm a newbie!

I have the hardtop option, just installed it last weekend. Preparing for the Seattle rainy season.
