Amazing work! I stumbled upon some of your previous aero work on other Porsches on Facebook, and they all look stunning. Do you have any plans on fabricating custom side vent pieces for the 986? I'd be very interested in that!

Intake scoops are next on the drawing board.
Thank you for the kind words about my others bits.

Good luck to ya! If the scoops come out as well as your other work, count me in for a set of those.

Couple of questions.

Are these fiberglass, carbon fiber, or?

What is the chance of rub/wear again to body or trunk?

Speed tested?

Painting options? I see yours is black, did you paint it?

Final thoughts: I like the design a lot, but it seems to more than twice what I was expecting. I'm sure it's worth it, but I'll have to wait.

To answer your questions,
Yes these will be fiberglass. I would like to do CF as well only if I can make the seam lines invisible.
The ducktail lines up like the original spoiler on the car with the same body line clearance. Will not rub.

Speed test....only to 75 MPH freeway driving. With using 3M two sided tape and the original plastic plugs they will not come off. My dive planes and 996 turbo intake scoops have gone 185 MPH on many track/race cars with only tape and no customer has lost one.
They can be painted. Will come out of the mold in shiny black gel coat like you see on mine.

The parts are going to be made in a three piece mold. When they come out of the mold I have seam lines which need to be cleaned up and made invisible. I cannot and will not make or sell these if the only way to make them presentable is to paint (color match) after the fact. These are actually more money than 4 models of my splitters because of the labor required.

Just clarifying. Is the 3M tape necessary? How difficult is the spoiler to remove once the tape is applied? I ask because removing the spoiler is an integral part of removing and servicing/repairing the rear bumper cover.

Just make sure you don't use the VHB line/series and you should be fine. VHB stands for Very High Bond. I use it for other industrial application, it is basically permanent. Beware!

Do use one that is waterproof. Can't recommend any (not my product) so hopefully Joe will offer just what you guys need. Often easily removable (slice-able) with a fishing line.

Are you talking about the ones on the rear quarter panels, behind the doors?

You do not want an intake scoop on the right (passenger side)... that is not an intake. That's an exhaust. A scoop would interfere.

Hi guys, got my car back last night and managed to do the final trim and test fit on the first production ducktail. I am going to start making parts today, tomorrow and resume Saturday.
I am taking Friday off and going for a drive, seems to have become an annual thing. I turn 66 Friday and this is my present to myself to get out and enjoy the car and our beautiful scenery for a day. Last year I did 2100KM (1300 miles) in twenty five hours.

There are 9 on the group buy list and I will leave it up to you guys to decide if it should stay open and try and hit the 11 mark to drop the price. I will end it Monday August 1st at the latest as I will be ready to receive payments and start shipping.

Pictures of the completed piece.

The one on the right side pulls cooler outside air into the engine compartment to cool it. If you hold your hand over it when the fan is running, you may feel a little air so it feels like it is expelling air but I think it is some sort of backwash. If you put a sheet of paper over the inlet it sucks the paper to the car.
