The price isn't bad! Unless that was euros or something. They could sell this car for well over 80k... Don't tell them that.

Imagine if they would/could give it the 475hp GT3 engine. Of course that would never happen...

And a Boxster GT4 (rumored to be in the works based on recent spy photo) with the same set up as this Cayman GT4 will be even quicker. Just like we saw with the Cayman R vs. Boxster Spyder in Excellence ( J. Van Overbeek driving no less). I'm waiting for that battle of the GT4's. It will bring everything full circle. Mid-engine. check. Short wheel base. check. wider plant. check. lowest center of gravity of any conventionally powered Porsche. check.
A Boxster GT4 may become the best roadster ever made. Definitely the best sub $100K Porsche in the water-cooled era.

I've got to question the selling price they listed. No way it goes for $85K. GTSs are $90K. They won't sell the GT4 for less than a GTS. AND at $85K, it would certainly gouge into 911 sales. I thought I saw $125K as an original est when the GT4 was first rumored. That seems more believable.

Sign me up especially if that is really the price. By Porsche standards a bargain. The best part, manual only!!!!

$120K clams sounds way too steep for the latter. Specifically when you're in a track car giving the C7 the point by at the track. Add $40k in track goodies to that C7 and your giving the $150k 991 GT3 a workout.
The BGB Cayman that won the 24 Hours had a 991 Carrera S engine so I guess BGB beat the factory to the punch here long ago.

That price listed is Euros. According to Google that equals $98K USD.
Still not a bad price if you can find a dealer who will sell them for that.

The pricing I saw was $85k in USD. Regardless, I imagine you aren't driving out of the showroom without options, dealer markups, and tax for under $110k.

Has anybody noticed the Cayman GT-4 with 380 hp matched the time of the 2011 GT-3 that has 475 hp. If true that's impressive and speak volumes to the superiority of the Cayman to the 911.

So they're pricing it like a base 991. Not bad... for Porsche. I'd definitely take the GT4 over the 991 or 991S because of the mid-engine. But boy the whole lure of the GT3 cars is that they are rock solid no matter how long the stints. Without the centerpiece of that category (the engine) it seems more like a clever marketing spin using the GT category name. Sure the speed is there over a single lap but GT3's are not one lap cars. Seems like this is still a GTS car. Albeit a very, very fast GTS.
Top of my wish list would be a 918 without all the Jestons tech and an 'old school' GT3 engine or the regular street engine. Seems wacky to either offer the $1 mm car or nothing after sinking all that money into developing a sub 7 minute N-ring car. A $100-$200K 918 is money on the table.

I think it was shown as USD in the R&T article but a link in Planet-9 says Euros, which makes more sense.

> The SPORT button activates automatic throttle-blipping for downshifts and provides sporty gear changes.
This seems pretty cool. I have seen some aftermarket solutions discussed for the 986 Boxster for auto-blipping but it seems like a lot of trouble.

$85K base.. Same as the base 991 Carrera with only 350 HP.
"The GT4 will make its first official public appearance at the Geneva International Motor Show in early March. US dealerships will start receiving shipments of Porsche’s newest sports car in July. Its starting price is $84,600, not including the $995 destination fee.

Cayman GT4 Announced!
I don't care whether it's USD or Euro, in fact I hope it is USD. But if it is USD, Porsche will be pricing it under the GTS and near the price of a base 991. Do we really think they'll do that? $98K (86K Euro) slots more reasonably in the Porsche line-up.
