How much racing do you watch?
Last weekend I found myself bored out of my mind there was little to no racing on the tube. This weekend Rolex at Indy Nationwide and Cup at Indy and F1 this morning in Hungary.
How much racing do you watch. I ether watch or record and watch later
1. F1
2. American Lemans
3. Rolex
4. Continental Sport car series
5. Nascar Cup
6. Nascar Nationwide
7. V8 Supercar
8. Europe Rally car when I can find it.

I record and watch later (hate commercials). My preference in this order:
- Wind Tunnel (does this count?
)
- NASCAR Sprint Cup (Go #48!)
- Grand Am (Memo/Scott #02)
- Continental Sports Car Series
- V8 Supercars (NASCAR on road courses!)
- IndyCar
- Indy Lights (might be better racing than the top series)
Plus any car related TV show:
- NASCAR Hub
- Wheeler Dealers
- Chasing Classic Cars
- Fast and Loud (the Ferrari show was awesome!)
- What's In the Barn? (motorcycles, but who cares?)
- Fantom Works
- Classic Pimp My Ride (Xhibit is hilarious!)
- Etc...
I usually save V8 Supercars and IndyCar for the winter when there isn't any live racing going on. Otherwise, I'd go into severe racing withdrawals that would probably require heavy medication.

F1 is about it for me, haven't had time to catch it this year unfortunately. Does anyone know what channel # carries Formula 1 coverage on Dish? Only thing I've been able to find thus far is in Spanish.

Always watch F1 can't even imagine an engine turning 19K rpm! Watched the Isle of Mann this year which was intense. F1 on DISH is on NBCSP 159 I think.

I used to watch CART and F1 pretty religiously. F1 has become a snooze fest if the golden era (Senna/Prost/Mansell/Piquet) is the standard. The whole DRS gimmick is a ridiculous attempt to make up for the disastrous transition of the sport from mechanical grip to aero grip. Most of the current crop came up without really learning overtaking the way it was mandatory in previous eras. And the dull racing shows it more with each year. The one good thing is that there are more teams winnings races lately but that doesn't mean the races are any less boring. I root for Hamilton and Kimi.
Indy car is also really on the downslope. It was really great in the late 90's, early 2000's when Castroneves, Franchitti, Montoya, DaMatta, Tracy were all duking it out. There was some great wheel-nut to wheel-nut racing. But the series has just not held up well over years.
I always thought Bernie should just buy it and set up as farm system for guys coming into F1 as well as guys involuntarily exiting. No real favorite driver although I like to see Simona debunk the myth that women can't drive open wheel on street courses.
ALMS is probably my favorite to watch. Having attended a few of their street races its by far the most exciting.
I like NASCAR but the flagrant dumping/spinning of cars without any consequences by race officials really makes me think I'm watching WWF wrestling.

I don't watch much except for the car shows like wheeler dealer, chasing classic cars, etc. I do watch the 24 hrs of Daytona as it is an hour from me! Hour local P dealer usually has a gathering at there shop to watch races too.

P.s.
"Are you faster than a redneck" on Speed has potential. Right up there with Wife Swap on ABC.

F1, bit of Le Mans and occasionally DTM. Perfectlap, I tend to agree that F1 is often now a 'snooze fest'. Gilles Velleneuve once suggested that they should take the (then) current cars and go to skinny tires - it would essentially simiulate racing in the wet and require much more skill to get the power down coming out of corners and in controlling slides on corners. The fact is that tire wear now seems to be the biggest factor in team success - it is extremely rare to see any driver able to go anywhere near 10/10 th's for much of the race. Sad....
