...over all seemed a bit sluggish, but, my wife and I were both aboard, had luggage fore and aft, and the highest octane level found was 91.

Cleaned the front condensers for a young guy that owns a 2004 2.7. He organized a lift in a workshop. Took me around 1:30 with a little help from him. He has not a lot of experience when it comes to wrenching. Did it the right way with removing the front wheels and front fender inliners.

The divers side looked pretty dirty. We used a vacuum cleaner to get the dirt out. But the passengers side – holy cow. 12 years and 125.000 Km of roads, dried grass, pebble stones. There was no more time to waste. Everything clogged.

This car was officially maintenanced by Porsche. Pretty shure nobody never had cleaned that part of the car. Important to check.

Sorry, no pics.

Regards, Markus

This should be a PSA (Public Service Announcement) for all - especially new - Boxster owners. You must pull the bumper cover and liners off to access the rads and AC condensors for proper cleaning. Then, if you're smart, install some mesh screens to help keep debris out.

Installed clear front/side lenses and clear/red 03-04 OEM rear lights on my 02 S . This completes my GT3 Boxster conversion look .

I joined the ranks of the Plasti Dip Brigade. To be honest, I am sick of cleaning brake dust off my wheels, and, have been considering having them powder coated black, this was a much more cost effective solution, and, I love the outcome!!!

Our boxsters look like twins! Haha especially now that I threw the clear side markers on. I like your wheels!

Nice Boxsters Gentlemen...they're at least siblings if not twins.
Got me thinking about coloring my wheels black.
Thanks for sharing the pics and info.

Noticed that my left axle boot - that i replaced 1.500 Km ago was torn. OK, bought stupid expensive new ones from Porsche and these stupid expensive clips. Started today with the left axle and noticed that on the right axle both axle boots are torn.

This axle boot job is not a fun job. Grease everywhere. I think you'll need another person get the axles out if you don't disassemble the exhaust on an 2003 S. I needed 2 other persons to get the axle out.

On the left side i disassembled the outer joint. Bad idea. Took me an hour to get it back together. So at the moment both axles are out. One axle is ready for reinstall.

Also never had deinstalled the right side. So had bigger problems to get bolts and nuts loose. Used a rust solver but it didn't work good. 13 years of being fitted together.

Also didn't use these fu.... Porsche clips to mount the axle boots. Used Oetiker clips which are so much better in my opinion. But they are also expensive. You have to take more care on the differential side where exactly you put the clip so you don't get in conflict with the bolts.

Also checked the control arms. Seems that they are grilled from the engine heat. No more grease in them. Turned the joint 90 degrees and filled in new grease that i have bought for the axle boot. But i think i have to replace them.

Well and there are some other things on list. Engine mount, water pump, thermostat, coolant fluid change, new stabilizer mounts… long list. Next year i need a new clutch and dmf. But i think i won't do that myself.

Regards, Markus

Changed to the McMaster Carr clutch helper spring. Definitely heavier peddle, and more "feel". Will run it for a week before passing judgement.

Ditto. Love the look of those wheels, Doc.

Brake dust is my mortal enemy and I hate it, but I have never been a fan of black wheels. To each, his own.

Just bought this tiptronic a couple of weeks ago, and couldn't wait to do some mods.

It just ain't my car until some mods are done!

Painted the calipers and added some matching decal tuning:

After much help from this board I managed, after a lot of time and swearing, to move the ac unit and its cables to the bottom of the center console, and fit this:

Bluetooth, as you can see, along with a backup camera makes the car feel really modern.

I LOVE my Boxster!

- Ray

Welcome to the forum Ray!
I can’t see the images but your mods are exciting, wish I could see the backup camera.
