Swapped out the motor mount with Pedro's TechnoMount - hooollleeee crap what a difference. I had no idea what that worn mount was doing to the ride and handling. Feels like it took years off the car, really didn't see that coming. Mine was split pretty bad, and I get $50 back for sending Pedro my core, so that's pretty sweet.

yeah, it's amazing how much balance the car has after doing this. of anything that i've done with the car, replacing the motor mount has had the most drastic improvement on the overall ride and feel.

Big work on the car last weekend and this weekend: I painted the calipers (red), changed the drop links desnorkeled the car and modified the muffler. The noise is now amazing
Next projects: Beltronics hardwire, motor mount, suspensions.

I got the OBC stalk installed and working on my 2001 S. I'd been waiting a year and a half to add this, it was 78 F here today, and I decided to get it done.

I really didn't want to mess with removing the airbag steering wheel, clock spring, etc. I also didn't want to disconnect the battery and lose my calibration...

SO, instead I pulled the top and bottom steering column covers (removed 2 side screws and 4 front cover (behind wheel) screws. You have to turn the wheel to access the screws holding on the front column cover.

Installed just the 4th stalk, Removed instrument cluster (IC), installed my harness. and reassembled.

Note #1: Be sure when re-installing the bottom steering column cover that you get the two bottom clips to snap in BEFORE you try to install the top column cover.

Note #2: You'll be installing the pins into the gray connector (closest to the drivers side of the car). The 101 Projects book doesn't indicate (at least anywhere that I could find) WHICH connector the new harness connects to. It's also the only connector with empty slots for pins 21-24 (at least on my 2001 S).

Note #3: I'm sure it's mentioned elsewhere, but on 2001+ cars the pins on the IC end are the same as the stalk end, so just buy the wires with the stalk connectors on both ends and don't cut them - no need to splice. You CAN make the earlier (slightly larger) pins fit, but it is a PITA to get them to seat all the way in. Once they are in they do work fine though.

Note #4: or better yet, buy a beautiful pre-built cable from Pdwight. It'll cost you less than buying the wires and connector and he does a really nice job. I would have bought one of his cables, but I'd already purchased all the parts to build mine when he came out with his.

Drove on 146 in a 60 mph zone between Baytown and Kemah Texas in a group of cars and a semi truck. Wasn't passing anybody, looked at the speedo and it was 84 mph...

New 6S Lube

Pumped by very messy hand 3 quarts of Fuchs's Transaxle lubricant in my long ongoing project. I couldn't believe how colorless this stuff is and how thin it seemed.

Oil Change. Still using the factory recommended Mobil 1 0-40. Filter was absent of unusual debris.

Not really today

but it was this week. New plugs, new pads and rotors all the way around, new rear control arms and then I drove it for the first time this year.

I had to replace the driver's side roll bar windstop clip. I carefully removed the vinyl trim piece, drilled out the rivet and installed the new clip. I then hid the wires for the windstop LED's.
