Installed Polaris' Auto Top DIY
AutoTop DIY

Great DIY project, low cost (< $25) and now I have an auto opening and closing top (hood for those across the pond )

Switched out the amber side markers. Ordered the stealth bulbs for them today.

Did a thorough scrubbing of the roof canvas with 303 cleaner, plus a wash to get all of the nasty off. Much better.

Roof protectant will be applied in a few days once the roof is dry (staying in the garage until then).

Swapped front motor mount center element out as the last mechanical task before leaving on a 3K mile road trip day after tomorrow. Going from Arkansas to central Montana for a wedding, then a couple of days in Yellowstone before moseying home via western Colorado via the Million Dollar highway through Durango and Pagosa Springs.

I finally started work on my headlights. Maybe they'll be ready in time for the autumn driving season

I installed Top Speed test pipes and Top Speed type of Exhaust. INCREDABLE!!!!! The sound is awesome!!! I already had the K&N Cold Air intake, so now I have a complete breathing system upgraded.

Pulled my bimmer out of storage today so I decided to give both of the German beauty queens a wash and polish. The Box even a bit older, just has such a timeless look to it. If and when I decide to add another Porsche to the garage, I honestly don't think I could ever let the 986 go. THUMBS UP for Turtle Wax Black Box too!

I changed the convertible top for a newer one with a glass window.

Also removed some of the dirt accumulated on the engine (thinking of trying to clean it even more tomorrow) and cleaned the air filter.

The new top is awesome, looks so clean compared to the old one:

I went to Black Forest Racing shop in Denver NC.We had a great tech session and my car was put on their lift for an oil change.Opened the oil filter and found NOTHING.No sign of IMS problems.I also changed the air filter and cabin filter. There was several models of Porsche there doing various maintenance. It was interesting looking at all the Porsche race cars . john Forbes has a great collection of 914's there.John is a 40 year Porsche technician specializing in air cooled and his son is an expert on water cooled. Can hardly wait for the next tech session there. My hat goes off to John for opening his shop and all his crew for their assistance. If you ever get to Denver NC it is a must to visit Black Forest Racing. They also furnished lunch for us.Not a bad days work for free labor.
