There were a few reasons: The biggest issue with the GHL is it's enormous drone. Seriously, it's beyond imagination.
I usually tried to keep the RPM above 3k, but one day I was stuck in a traffic jam with stop 'n' go for about an hour and when I finally arrived at home my ears were ringing. I had this feeling the last time when I was going to heavy metal concerts (when I was younger). The other issue with the GHL is that the drone translates into vibrations. The vibrations are so bad that the two studs which are used to mount the exhaust routinely break off. You literally have to check the exhaust every 3 months to make sure that both studs are still intact. One day both studs broke off at the same time and it was only sheer luck that the headers which now had to support all the weight didn't crack.
About the Stebro: Fantastic sound but it was so loud (I measured 99 dB inside the car with the top open) that I really was worried about my neighbors coming to my door with pitchforks and torches. I live on a hill which means I can't "coast" when going home, and I feel really bad when I come home after 10 PM ......
