clutch failure

Hi everyone,

a funny thing happen on my 2001 yesterday. After driving around all day and the clutch feeling funny during decompression, it finally blew. The pedal went suddenly easily all the way down and stayed there! I could retract it and push it again. No hydraulic behind it.

It stayed half-way decompressed once 2000 miles earlier. After 20 minutes stop-and-go on a hill side.

Just thought I'd share this warning sign.

this isn't a clutch failure, but a failure of the clutch hydraulic system. it's most likely your slave cylinder and POSSIBLY your clutch master cylinder.

Insite is right, either your Clutch Master Cyclindar is gone or the Clutch Slave Cyclindar is gone... Either way its a hell of alot cheaper to replace than a clutch.

You're right. The master cylinder is gone. The stealership told me, the pedal mechanic needs to be upgraded as well. $200 parts - $800 labor. Roughly :-(.
