TRON (like) fluorescent stripes (new bling bling trend)

Seen a few of those super & sport cars dwtown already. And it's getting worst. Started in Japan a few weeks/month ago and now in Shanghai. Guessing you'll start to see those designs coming your way in no time

Actually, I wouldn't do this to any of my cars, but if you'd see this in real life, man it is INSANELY BEAUTIFUL

Yeah, but what do these cars look like in the daytime all covered in tap? I'm guessing it will look like the body shop forgot to remove all their tape after a respray or some such...

I'll be honest I don't know. Never seen one. During the evening under bright street light, it simply reflect the light same as you often see on those cyclist's accessories (back-packs, pedals, etc). I think this tape has also glow-in-the-dark pigments added to it. Scary stuff....

It must surely look awful during day time when the car is looked from close distance. After all this is a real BATMAN mod, and that guy only takes his ride out during the night

Would be interesting to see. Dunno how daytime would look but would truly be unique.

I think it is this stuff:
Vehicle and Specialty Markings : 3M Roadway Safety - 3M US:****3M

3M has a lot of nice stuff. I personally like this one:
3M Light Management - 3M US: Automotive OEM: **** Automotive OEM: 3M United States
but haven't been able to actually find it on sale anywhere.
This would make for nice angle eye material, etc. etc.

You can buy this electro-luminescent tape at RadioShack. I'm not sure how bright it is because I've never tried it, but I considered it for internal (inside the headlight) daytime running lights when I was doing my projector install. It's expensive, though

Thank you, well said. That is exactly what I was looking for to accurately describe this new trend.

Cartoon looking indeed! But still scary-crazy nice.....

Again, I've seen 2 Lambo stripe'd to the bones with that stuff passing us on the freeway y'day evening, one with fluo baby-blue stripes. The place I've seen them had no street lights, pitch black dark in the mountains. Just the reflection of my headlight's beam on those two cars in front of me was enough to bright them up bizarrely. Mental stuff I tell ya

I know what we will use from now on for our night races We have been using backlit number plates, this will allow us to see the car everywhere on the track!!

Unless you have been on a pit wall at night, most people don't know how hard it is to SEE your car coming down the straight when everyone has their KC Daylighters lit up!! This would help out a TON!!
