Did you remove the reflector bowl to paint it? I don't see how to remove it, and I don't want to break anything trying. Guess it can be painted in place, but I'd rather remove it if it's not too much...

Seems to me that the acid theory should be easy to prove even on an engine that suffered IMS failure, simply by sending the parts for analysis by a testing lab.

I just replaced mine with Alpines. Foam surrounds on the OEM speakers were also disintegrating in my hands. I imagine that all old OEM speakers are in the same condition.

I think what he means is that he bought a cheaper halogen light to swap lenses. Lights can be heated enough to soften the adhesive so the lens can be removed.

Mine is a 986. I ordered the kit with 5000K bulbs. Light output is slightly less than the 4300K factory temperature, but not really noticeable.

To clarify, the base of the projector is threaded....
