I agree with 911monty. The good news here is that it's not wet EVERYWHERE, which is frequently the case with a leak on the bottom.

Take your flashlight and follow the trail up. I think you're likely to find a slipped hose clamp, or some such.

Otherwise: what brand expansion tank did you use when you replaced it?
