Also you can hear some noises like a really old car suspension squeaking, and last night after a closer inspection, while moving around the SpeedArt muffler to see if something was loose, I noticed some movement (up and down) on the passenger side transmission mount with a faint squeaking.

Could this means that the transmission mounts are already worn (after only 100k miles ) even if there is not a single drop of fluid (or 'oil sweat') around the mounts?

I checked the prices for the transmission mounts and are not really that cheap, just wanted to hear your opinion before I order the new mounts (almost $600)

Thank you!
While I hate to say it, "it depends". We have seen the factory mounts go 200K miles without issue on some cars, and fail at 50K miles on others. All depends upon how the car has been used.

Today's money saving trans mount trick: Do not buy the Boxster mounts as they come as an assembly; instead buy the 993 mounts which come as just the exact same oil filled part at about 1/3 the price.....

Hello JFP,

By any chance do you have the P/N for the 993 transmission mounts?

I have an 07 Cayman S with the 6 speed transmission, and most likely they are the same mounts as the ones on the Boxter S.

Thank you in advance!
