Throwing out another suggestion for removing the old tubes, an expanding boat drain plug.

Saw that one too in the same thread. I have bolts, washers and nuts. If I can't get that to work there is a Marina about 25 miles from me. I assume that is where you would have to get one of those?

My O rings were so old that I was able to pull the tubes out with my fingers. I just put my finger in the tube, kinda pushed down and pulled them right out. I was pleasantly surprised how easy they came out. I hope you don't have to much trouble with them.
