New Fabspeed Maxflow

Well after lots of looking around and much contemplating which exhaust to buy or to stick with the stock exhaust, I bit the bullet today and ordered a new Maxflow from Fabspeed Of course I had to order it so hopefully by Nov Thanksgiving I will get this baby mounted

I'll post pics when it arrives although I might not be able to do any video/soundclips until the spring depending on the weather

Greatest thing I ever did to one of my cars. Congrats. The noise is absolutely heaven and worth every single penny...

Thank you :-) amazing that a little thing like a muffler can make it feel like an
early Christmas :-) (actually its better than Christmas lol)

Jay you are certainly invited to come hear the music actually you can actually 'face the music' if you want you don't have to look away hahahaha

Trimer; I kept hearing that same statement several times now and from what I understand this new latest revision's sound just compliments the car perfectly

Due to the different layout of the exhaust on the 996 it will probably sound much different than on the 986... Post a sound clip when you get it done

What other brands did you look at before deciding?

Billy Boat, Manzo, Circuit Works, Remus and Borla...
The new Maxflo seemed to come most highly recommended; and one of the selling features to me was the 2" diameter pipe all the way from the header mating flange to the back, so when I eventually swap out the headers, the entire system will be 2". The sound and the finish of the exhaust also seems to be pretty good.... overall hard to beat.

Well the new exhaust went on today and I have to say, so far I'm happy having spent the extra on money. The fit is perfect and the sound is great... very happy with this purchase. Took me about 2hours for the complete job but I spent about 30min tinkering getting the height just right for the bracket as I had to compensate for the GT3TEK diffuser Anyhow it all turned out good.
I added a cheesy video... sorry its not great quality but you get the idea in sound difference.

Looks great and sound nice! I just can't justify the $2,295.00 price, plus the shipping cost.

After I get my headers and secondary cat delete pipes on, I'm going to run with my current Crios modded stock muffler to see how it sounds, then I'll go with the Borla muffler.

I was looking at the Borla exhaust myself and at half the price it was a good deal; the only thing that kept me away from it was the drone at cruising speed; I seriously think the drone comes from the upper mounting point as some exhausts bolt directly to the transmission bracket with welded brackets where the Fabspeed utilizes the upper mounting brace of the stock exhaust which has two dampened mounts on either end. I'm sure if one was to make up a dampening plate between
the transmission and the other exhausts, a lot of the drone complaints would vanish.

Nah it won't, I've tried that and also added a cross over on the exit too to try and get rid of the drone and it's still bad. I'm going to try something else later this year and hope that works.

Your Fabspeed exhaust looks really nice and sound epic too, I'ld love to know how it's piped up inside.

Interesting, I would have thought that would make a difference... let me know what you find in your trials and modification. yes I'm impressed with the sound and its certainly a distinct tone. I could shove the snake cam inside and see what it looks like and try to make a video
