I've been trying to tackle a similar problem for some time now, AKL. Members on here and the Porsche specialist I brought it to most recently suspect a bad harness or some bad wiring within the harness, and this is after I've replaced my ignition switch and alternator (out of necessity but also in hopes that it would resolve the flickering issue, too). If you know your ignition switch is good and you're not experiencing other ignition switch related issues, then I'd say check out your alternator next. The battery could also be the culprit, because unless I have the wrong thing in mind, that's one of those lightweight, barely there batteries, isn't it? Those aren't really meant for everyday use, and could be part of the problem too. If none of these are in bad shape, then maybe you want to check out your harness. It could be that some of the wires have gotten old and are causing the problem.
