Flickering headlights
Tonight was the first time in a long time that I have had the Boxcar out at night. When I drove to the garage I noticed the slightest flickering of the headlights. Lights are new Halogens so it is not the bulbs. When I stepped on the gas the lights got brighter but then dimmed a bit when I eased off and started the so slight flickering. I have a Braille Battery that I keep plugged into a Porsche battery maintainer when I am not able to drive for awhile. A '02 2.7 Tip. Any insight on what this might be? Alternator, belts, voltage regulator etc.?

I've been trying to tackle a similar problem for some time now, AKL. Members on here and the Porsche specialist I brought it to most recently suspect a bad harness or some bad wiring within the harness, and this is after I've replaced my ignition switch and alternator (out of necessity but also in hopes that it would resolve the flickering issue, too). If you know your ignition switch is good and you're not experiencing other ignition switch related issues, then I'd say check out your alternator next. The battery could also be the culprit, because unless I have the wrong thing in mind, that's one of those lightweight, barely there batteries, isn't it? Those aren't really meant for everyday use, and could be part of the problem too. If none of these are in bad shape, then maybe you want to check out your harness. It could be that some of the wires have gotten old and are causing the problem.

If you had the assembly out recently it may not have seated back in the whole way. Unlatch the assemby with the special tool and reinsert the asslebly with a little guidance pressure from the other hand That may fix it.
