My 2 cents -- I like the photos of members/partipants cars. It looks great, very professional, and has a bit of a reward for our hard labor in keeping our cars "buffed!"

Talking donv

Yeah those are kinda neat, but animation on a site is generally not that well accepted in the world of web design. Best to keep things simple IMO.

Post I'd position things about like this

I'd position things about like this. I painted over the blue lines around ehljags car, but that was just because I had to. I am not against having the member photos with a border. In this case perhaps the member photos would need to be a bit smaller to give more emphasis to the forum graphic since that is the primary focus first time you come here.

Smile

I agree with the last couple of posts re: simplicity and the car photos. My intended suggestion was only to focus on that by simplifying the overall appearance (to not distract from the members' cars photos) through making the current left hand image (a.ka. "site" logo) be stylized text alone.

FWIW, below image was my original thinking.

In all truth, it is the site content I'm most interested in (vs. the look, per se), so I'll just back out of this politely and leave the look to others... keep up your good work!

Talking Another take on that

How about something like this then? I think with some more depth, drop shadow, plus some other touches, your idea is not looking too bad doing it this way.

So, the envelope please Mr. Jorge! Jorge, wake up!

Talking Yeah!

Yeah, I like the way it turned out. Donv had a good idea after all with his suggestion for an all text forum graphic.

If anyone else has a shot of their Boxster they want to add to the gallery so Jorge can rotate them out now and then, let me know and I will take your image and do the Photoshop magic on it.

Just send me a PM if you are interested.

Glad you like it. The only thing I would like to see different is smaller images of member autos. Which by the way, I am waiting for more submissions.

Thumbs up Smaller images

I agree Jorge, the pics for the member's cars could be smaller.

Talking Smaller pics

Jorge, I resized ehljags member pic, check your email. 66% of what it is now. Should work fine.

Lightbulb The "since the site is dead" topic should go away

The "since the site is dead" topic should go away. I don't think we are helping attract anyone by having that stuff up there anymore.

We have changed the look, it looks great. So let's get rid of the references to the deadness and the tumbleweed.

Can we put something up there that is a bit more positive and relevant?

Just my 2 cents. Anyone else care to comment?

My 5 cents -- THIS FOURM ROCKS. We need a bit more "involvement." The infor is always good, informative, and humorous (at times). I like the new look, especially the lapis blue car at the top.

Jorge,
What do you need from us? You seem to "give" a lot, but......

I recommend we need to "market," perhps in local chapter P-car fish wraps.......
