Well after much deliberation and head scratching I've finally rectified the problem with the top that had come unstuck just below the glass rear window.......as many of you had mentioned, the glue over time loses it's tackiness and the fabric becomes loose, causing the window to sag .
There are quite a few sites that recommend taking the roof off and removing all the seals, which seems are prone to being damaged on removal and quite a job for one man, so, after much deliberation I decided to use some heavy duty staples. With the roof in service mode, there is enough slackness in the roof to pull it back into position over the rear of the frame and towards the seals, using 3 spaced staples I've managed to reposition the fabric into the original position and the staples are out of site and once again the roof closes without sagging under the window.
Result.
