... I am interested to see the responses to this as I too need to replace the adhesive below the glass rear window but after some research have found that tape will be the best option :

I had the stitching start to come out at the corners of my glass window. I used E600 adhesive (Black) and it has held up very well.

3m yellow super trim adhesive, #2. It works just like contact cement. carefully follow the drying times and mask everything you don't want glued..

Well after much deliberation and head scratching I've finally rectified the problem with the top that had come unstuck just below the glass rear window.......as many of you had mentioned, the glue over time loses it's tackiness and the fabric becomes loose, causing the window to sag .

There are quite a few sites that recommend taking the roof off and removing all the seals, which seems are prone to being damaged on removal and quite a job for one man, so, after much deliberation I decided to use some heavy duty staples. With the roof in service mode, there is enough slackness in the roof to pull it back into position over the rear of the frame and towards the seals, using 3 spaced staples I've managed to reposition the fabric into the original position and the staples are out of site and once again the roof closes without sagging under the window.

Result.

The E 6000 automotive adhesive worked quite well. Cleaned every thing with acetone, spread a thin layer of glue, then clamped it over night.
Thanks for the recommendation.

I used Mike Focke's guide with the 3M 06384 adhesive tape to fix the roof on mine. Worked great, no mess.
