Got around to installing my Skybreaker the other day. I decided to use the factory phone plug for switched power and it was easy to locate and connect.

This small piece of carpet under the dash slides toward the frunk and exposes the forward console area.

The four wires are Brown- (ground), Yellow- (mutes radio if phone in use), Green- (switched power, 12v when key is turned to accessory), Red- (continuous 12v, not switched).

Spliced into ground (brown) and switched (green) wires and soldered. Apologies for focus and soldering abilities.

The rest was running wires as others have done. Thanks to BruceH for the velcro mounting idea.

I'll post a night pic when I get a chance.

I should have mentioned, if using this plug it was easy to find. Once the small piece of carpet is removed, just reach in and feel around.

Put a small cloth over the tip of a flat screw driver you can shove that wire inbetween the roll bar cover

I used a plastic trim removal tool from Harbor Freight to tuck the wires. Nicely done ccjazz!

I'll try to get a picture of it later on, but I actually connected mine to the rear parking lights via the bundle of wires that run through the b-pillar trim where the seat belt is mounted. Super easy to get to (tough to find the right wire in the bundle) and short. No need to run wires into the center console.

I was thinking about that, or the rear defrost wiring. I wasn't sure how I would find switched power controlled by the ignition switch position so went with the phone plug option. Wanted to avoid drilling holes too.

I'd like to see how you wired that up.
