I photoshopped the chrome units onto my Glacier White Box, but didn't like the look. Must have been my photoshop work because I'm really liking your pic :) Would be nice to see the whole car from different angles. TIA |

... I appear to be having a few issues with the lights.
1. Condensation in the passenger light http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1346856610.jpg 2. Eyebrow/Turn signal appear to be confused on drivers side. Eyebrow lights up with turn signal when activated. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1346856584.jpg I'm speaking to proexhaust the ebay store to try and get this sorted. I'll keep the forum updated on the outcome. From what I read so far, the condensation is a known problem and the fix is to reseal the light with silicone. The eyebrow/turn signal issue appears to be a faulty unit. :-( I really hope the lights work out because they look really hot on the car. |

Are you sure you have a good connection with the existing loom? I know from personal experience when installing the lights in and out that it can dislodge the connector slightly resulting in intermittent lighting issues. Try unhooking the coonector and then hook up with the light halfway in. Just a thought. Getee, I found a LED flasher made by Narva. Will buy one and install this weekend. Hopefully any flashing issues will then settle down |
I got mine in. HID 8k low beam. regular high beam and HID 6k fog's.
Probably one of the best esthetic mods you can do to the front. Car looks way more modern. Couple tips. Do not try to put the lights in without putting the back cap on the low beams. The headlights will flex and the top of projector portion rubbed on the inside of the headlight cover....grrr. I had to flex the tap where it locks in as mine would not seat. I even took the headlight tray out to confirm why it wasn't seating. I used a pair of plier and massaged it a little and all is well. It looks freakin awesome. |

Buy a H1 HID kit. Ebay has em for 27 shipped. (seriously they are all pretty much the same and the 150+ kit which i also have). The red goes into the connecter on the headlights. The black connector I attached to the screw that holds down the headlight tray as ground. It's at the very far back end(gold color screw)

Hm. If you could take a picture, that'd be nice. I have HID kits in my non-projector headlights, and I just fit the ballast into the compartment (I just stuff it in there) and it fits quite nicely.
What I meant to ask was the fog lights. How did you fit the ballasts for the fog lights? |
I think I took them out over 10 times now to adjust beam height....sorry I didn't take any pictures.
The ballasts for both are outside the compartment. They are attached/tied down on the outside. Reason why I have them outside is the temp. Pull the headlights out after 10 min. They get really hot. I'd hate to leave the ballasts in such a hot environment just in case. I basically have a big hole in the back of low beam and fog light back caps are left out. I doubt water will get in there and by leaving them exposed, I'm sure it'll let the heat out. Quote:

The outside of the housing on the back and on the fender side, there is a lot of space.
I used doubleside tape to attach to back of housing, zip tie loose wire, and tape down over the ballast. Duck tape(your choice of color/design) works the best and holds well even with heat. |
Adjusted the lights and took them for a ride down a dark road, light is awesome.
Talked with geetee on the phone, seems these housings have a serious tight fit when clamping them down with the wrench. Seems there is a little tolerance issue with these lights. I think the DRL looks the best going down the road, and the turn signals are really impressive. All that taking them in and out, I forgot to get my Flash2Pass back in.. Left it in the old light... LED tail lights tomorrow.. T |
Wow! They do look nice. So do the white LED lights only come on when the parking lights are on or are they true drl and on all the time??

They are the same sockets that the OEM lights are. One thing I did notice. The side marker light switch (Pull out turn left on the light switch) also lights he DRL white LED light. Each side comes on with the side marker lights on each which one you select. Not like I use that switch... |

so to clarify, you guys are putting HID kits in for the fogs, headlights and high beams? And there's definately enough room for 3x ballasts behind each headlight housing? Thanks |

Each light requires (2) H1 bulbs and (1) H7. You can reuse your H7 out of the old light if not going the HID route. geetee elected to do HID kits on his. I went with Sylvania SilverStar H1 4000K bulbs for both the high & low beams, and just reused the H7. I may go HID later, but they are pretty bright now and a great distance ahead of the car. Combined with the H7 fog light they light up the road big time.. Hope that helps T |
I have HID's in my headlights now, just need to find some good LED's or something bright and white for the fogs and i'm OK with using the same old h7's in my brights, i don't use them very often.
