looks good, i have the smoked version on mine. LED headlight and taillights are about the easiest, most dramatic change you can do to modernize the look of these cars...

Love them, great fit..... Just need to aim them now, any tips on aiming geetee

How about some wider shots, fellas? Of the tail lights and head lights...nice to see the detail, but would be nice to see the vehicle as a whole, as well. ;)

Just swapped the flasher relay with a LED one - 30 secs as Getee said.

No troubles now!

The setup I have on the car is LED brake lights, headlights and 3rd brake lights

If you're doing it in a stepped process (as I did) this is what you have to do:

Brake lights - no led relay or resistors required
3rd Brake lights - resistors required as it stops your cruise working (detects the brake light as being on with the led version)
Headlights - led flasher relay to pick up the lower resistance.

All done and enjoying the updated Porsche!

Hey can you get up a shot of outside with the black headlights? Id like to see a shot in natural light.

Tony_fury, those LED match up the front really well. The other Depo LED lights look too OEM to work as well.

You guys with smoked lights don't use your fog lights!

I understand that the heat from the bulb may be melting the matte black coating.

Jeremy from xtreme is on to it and it may be LED foglight bulbs may be the. Way to go.

I know one of my bulbs is set low and I have a fine crack. Easily fixed I would add with a long paint brush and matte nail varnish.

Better to be safe than sorry.

Are you referring to H7 HID fog light bulb or the standard stock H7 bulb..?
I'm running the standard stock H7 bulb.
There is a rating on the side of the light that spec's what bulbs are required and max wattage.
I don't normally run the fog lights, but would like to know..

Standard stock Halogen H7

On the black matte units the fog lights are not chromed i.e. its not reflective

I did wonder about that as I know how hot these lights can get.

Pretty sure Jeremy is looking at some LED alternative H7 globes.

Not sure how hot the HID's get.

I replaced the. Fog/driving lights with the led lights in the stock headlights and they do not get very hot at all, however they are not very bright and will not be good replacements for the driving lights. They do make decent drls for the stock headlights though.

Once my lights come in, I'll be running HID H1 lowbeams and HID H7 fogs. I'll tell you if they crack or not. HIDs burn at a significantly lower temperature than the halogens, so I don't believe it'll be a problem.

I was wondering if you could help with a picture of position of the led flasher relay fix, and which Narva relay you used as they have a couple of different versions.
Thanks for all your photos thus far, as they have convinced me to buy those headlights today. Thanks for everyone making this a very interesting and enlightening topic, lol.

So I ordered a set of the black LED lights and they arrived today. The lights look really very nice, just like the photos in this thread have shown. The install is also really very simple. Took me about 30 minutes to unpack, install the bulbs, pull the old lights, pack away the old lights in the box and install the new lights.

Just a couple observations: While these lights look very nice, the quality is quite not on par with OEM. The housing is very flexible and the top of the inner light housing must have rubbed on the lens during shipping leaving a small scratch on the upper part of each lens. Not really a big deal. also If you look closely you can see the internal wiring through the gaps in the housing.

That being said, once they are in, they do look excellent, and I am over all very pleased. I pulled my LED H7 from my old stock headlights and installed them in the new ones since the LED lights are not True DRL and only come on with the lights. I had done the LED DRL Hack and since it is already set up, will keep it since It looks great both with the lights off and on and since the standard H7 cant be used.

Sorry for the bad picture but the my garage is tight with two cars and a small dinghy in it, but you get the Idea.

BTW, Jeff at xtreme was exceptionally helpful and shipping was very fast.

I hear what you say about quality, but if Porsche had ever made these lights expect a $4,000 price tag on them.

Imagine all the critics when the 996 came out if the cars had these lights fitted!!!

Did Jeremy say anything about the fog lghts melting the black coating?

Remember, dont use the fogs until we have a fix to the heat the halogens generate.

The Narva relay you need is 68245BL model, red in colour, LED Flasher relay.

The relay it replaces is the one with 191 stamped on the top, located on the top bank of relays on my Porsche 911 - definite easy fix to quick flashers
