Just about done with it. I think this is the first one built for the class. Just a few little things left to do to make it track worthy. Still a lot more to do to have it prepped 100% to the rules.

I designed them and had my friend turn them on his CNC lathe. My first race is in July and I will know how they work. They use the Koni 8611-1257 strut insert.

I will be watching this one with some interest.

Spec Boxster basically does not exist in the Southeast, so that is not an option. ITR looks like a good relatively easy prep level, but it looks like there are only one or two competitors of any kind running ITR in the SARRC series. The only other way to go would seem to be NASA GTS2 or GTS3 ?

Any other options out there for racing a Box in the Southeast?

You asked if there are other options for racing in the southeast? The answer is yes. You mentioned NASA GT3 but you forgot PBOC out of FL. They race at RA, VIR, Barber, Sebring, Daytona, Homestead.

Additionally, I didn't see anyone mention PCA with races at Sebring, Daytona, RA, Barber, and VIR. How many races are you looking to run each year? From ATL you could hit mid-ohio and COTA as well.

I have raced with both groups since 2002 with a boxster 3.6L in GT3R (PCA) and R3 (PBOC). My car was very competitive in both series.

For SCCA your other options would be E production or STU. I might move to one of those classes after a couple of years.

Not a lot of engine mods are allowed in ITR. All that is allowed is .5 bump in compression, good valve job, 1" port match, .040" over bore, which I can't do since you can't bore the cylinders and I can't use Nickes. I can use any header/exhaust system and any air intake. Any programmable ecu is allowed. Right now I have a stock 41k mile engine in it now.

Thanks for the info. I had no idea there was a PBOC around here. I will check that out. I don't like to travel much (do that enough for work) so if I could find a prep level that works for SCCA / PCA / PBOC I could just stay at Barber, RA, and Roebling.

If the asking price is too high I can lower it to 45k and then just make sure you don't wad it up. I've raced it since 2002 without rolling it up. You can too.
