Thank you all for your great input.

To concentrate on my driving, I will keep things simple and not add these cool electronic tools to the mix on my second track day. Once I get to know my car and the track better, I'll add them. I'll bookmark this post for future reference.

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge. Have a great summer.

MikenOH, Topless and others-

I broke down and bought a Qstarz 818XT. I have Racechrono and also Trackmaster on my Motorola Droid X2 phone. My computer literacy is woefully inadequate and have the following questions:

1. How do I download the logged data/sessions from my phone to my pc and what type of file format does it need to be in?
2. I have a 16gig micro sd card in my phone....is this enough to video at 720p AND log data for six 25 minute sessions (if not, I'll just use the Canon Elph for video)?
3. Do I need to download RaceChrono on my pc in order to download the track sessions from the phone to the pc?
4. Is there a tutorial for this whole process of data logging, downloading data, and overlaying gps data to video somewhere on the web?

Thanks.

By the way, I'm going back to Brainerd International Raceway on Monday August 6 for another DE day. I the only change I made to the car is the installation of Pedro's Technobrace.

Thank you. I can pretty much guarantee that I will have fun. I'll do my best in capturing videos of the sessions.

I do have a question though. After a track day, did you find that the wear on your tires sometimes make them go out of balance and therefore you have to re-balance them. I have a slight vibration and will do a road force balance on the front tires in the morning.

The balance weights probably fell off because the glue melted due to the heat. Be sure to use metallic duct tape to tape over the weights on before a track day.
