Just their standard extended warranty I guess. I was quoted $3600 from Beverly Hills Porsche, 3 years/36,000 miles, supposedly it covers all non-wear items but I would be scrutinizing the paperwork closely if I decided to do it. The really annoying part, I have 50,400 miles on my Boxster. I asked and they told me had I brought it in with under 50k, the 40-50k extended warranty would have been 4 years for $4000.

Live and learn, don't try to delay and maximize your warranty time, check this stuff out EARLY.

Was this offered by the dealer or by Porsche. Would it be honored at any other Porsche dealer? Does the car need to pass any inspections? Yes, that $50k clause must be really annoying.

Good question on the location honoring. I will definitely ask that next. The car would not need to pass inspection because it's still under CPO.

What's the deductible breakdown (if any) for the extended warranty they are offering?

Not sure if there's different deductibles for different problems. The seller quoted a $50 one on the phone. For this much money, that better be for everything...

I think that speaks volumes. If they're screwing with you over 400 miles imagine what they'll do if there's the slightest question about what the warranty covers later.

I doubt that is a Porsche CPO extention. Sounds like an aftermarket warranty to me.

I have a third party warranty thru Mercury Insurance. I got it when I bought my 99 Boxster in June. 3yr/36000 for $3500. Best thing is ---no deductable.

It is a very comprehensive package and good on me...my driver's side window regulator just went south yesterday. They picked up the whole $477 tab.

It was a sound investment in my opinion.
