I'm purchasing a Porsche Boxster Need Advice
Hai...
I wanted to get some advice from the community. What are the key differences between the different Boxster generations (986, 987, 981, 718, etc.)? Are there any standout features or drawbacks I should be aware of for each generation? NJMCDirect Website. Use our service to find out the pending tickets. I'm torn between getting a Boxster with a manual transmission or PDK. What are your thoughts on the driving experience and resale value for each option?
Thank you.

When it comes to Boxster models, I'm biased. I've always felt the first series, the 986, was the most beautiful. As with the Series 1 E-type, the designers got it right the first time. However, not content with perfection, they had to fiddle with it (as did the E-type's designers). To my eye, other than the addition of a glove box, the changes were not improvements. But as I said, I'm biased.

Totally agree. The later models with glove box had some other nice things under the skin- S suspension, and fewer chain ramp issues.
Although there’s something to be said for cable throttle

Agree, the I like the 986 after 2003 for the rear glass window. The 2005 adds an upgraded interior. The 2009 eliminates the IMS problem. I really like my 2003 S with a 6.2 liter LS3.

Call me suspicious but...
Someone comes in from the Balkins, asks a cpl of mile wide ques, and then never comes back into the discussion. OBW, also includes a sketchy link.
I might be wrong, but this one has some potential red flags.
