That doesn't work. Can the rear bumper be removed with the trunk. Closed? Would that give me any access to the latch?

I don't know. You might check a vid on removing the rear bumper cover and see if the trunk lid up is necessary.

No and no.
It may take a good yank to open the lid with the cable. the problem is the routing of the cable: does anyone remember where this wire feeds through?
Once you get it open you will need to replace the latch solenoid with a new one. They get lazy eventually.

That's not good. Pulling any harder might pull it off the hack stand. I hate to saw a hole in a perfectly good deck lid.

Okay, it looks like I lied about the bumper. If you rais and remove the spoiler, you have access to the 3 screws at the top of the bumper
