I can hear the trunk latch working but trunk lid won't budge.
Like the title says I can't get the trunk open. Tried pushing it while pushing the fob, which is working. Any other way to access trunk? 😩

There’s an emergency cable behind the drivers side tail light or rear bumper area. Accessing it is another issue.

I saw mine by simply removing the driver side bumperette. Don’t know if it will be as easy for you.

The bumperette is a re route. I think you find it in driver side rear wheel well and the frunk cable is in passenger front wheel well rerouted to to tow hook in front bumper. reroute before you need to get to them if you can.I have had to use both.Have to carry allen wrench to fit rear bumperette to remove

Took off the wheel, found cord, pulled cord. Feels like its attached to a tree. No movement, no noise and its not budging. How screwed am I ?

I'll take a stab...
Try pulling the cord from different angles... Have a companion push down on the trunk while you pull on the cord. Best wishes! |

It may take a good yank to open the lid with the cable. the problem is the routing of the cable: does anyone remember where this wire feeds through? Once you get it open you will need to replace the latch solenoid with a new one. They get lazy eventually. :( |

Okay, it looks like I lied about the bumper. If you rais and remove the spoiler, you have access to the 3 screws at the top of the bumper
|
Also note that on my car, the cable is routed through a grommet placed just below the left tail light. this grommet goes towards the rear of the car. So removing the bumper would give you access to the area where the grommet is placed and might make pulling the cable easier.

So what did you do to get in?
The hook had come off? |

I removed the spoiler, 2 bolts, pulled out the seal and could see the latch. If I would of had a solid flexible rod like a welding rod I would of saved a lot of time by pulling the inside emergency latch. I could see it too. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1572043066.jpg |
Good job! Beats going in with the sawzall!
