they do permit the center support in the manual, but I don't care for that. That aluminum brace seems a bit flimsy

I put a hockey on my low profile jack and raise the corner via the LCA. Then I place a jack stand under the factory jacking point and lower onto it.

Just my way as I know for sure the LCA will take the load and fairly accessible on a lowered car. A centre point is pretty hard to reach when lowered

YEah and it's hard to get too without a long jack. The one time I did it I bent some of the sheet metal brace around that end. I always use the chassis diagonal as shown in the 101projects book.
