Do the Cayman sun visors you used detach and allow you to push the sun visor over to the side window area? That's one thing I don't like about the 986 sun visor, not being able to move it to the side window.

They do, but they won't work on the Boxster since the mounting point is radically different. I went with those as mounting points aside the visor is identical to the Boxster, and they were easier to find in nice condition. Cheaper, too. I think I paid about $90 for the pair I used in mine, and less than that for another set for a friend's 996. Compared to the $130+ for a new mirror it was a no-brainer.

Yeah I misread your post, you only used the mirror part off the Cayman sun visor. It really is annoying Porsche made the sun visors the way they did on the 986. I would love to be able to move the sun visor to the side window at times.

I know right? Especially since it seems the 996 cabrio has it (I think).
