				What's your favorite mod?

What's you favorite mod? Mine hands down air horns. Twice in the last month I've had an SUV and a pickup truck decide to drift quickly into my lane (the infamous Texas drift) without bothering to use an indicator. Truth be told, I believe they did not know I was there. That didn't last long though, as I hit the air horns their sense of self preservation kicked in , and they returned to their lane in short order. The SUV started back to their lane, STILL did not see me, and started to run me off the road again, the second very long blast convinced them their life was in danger so they quickly returned to their lane. What is you favorite mod?

It would have to be a tie between aftermarket glass window top and Fred/Charles headlights. The lights take at least ten years off the age of the car, plus they work very well. The top is nice because I can drop it even in cooler temps. Oh and it looks way less ghetto without the yellowing packing tape trying to seal all the tears in the plastic window.

For now, it is the K&N Filter; the sound of the intake in my driver side intake always brings a smile ear-to-ear

				Favorite Mod

For my Boxster I did two nice improvements this summer: first was to install a four stalk and activate the CC and OBC with Dwight Pilkilton's superb wire harnesses. Then I yanked off those annoying, clunky secondary cats and installed Top Speed by-pass pipes. Coupled with my factory PSE, it's a great sound. Chuck Wampler and Bruce Hildewig were great help on this mod. Last summer I painted the calipers red - with my triple black car, they look great. My favorite so far? I guess it would be the exhaust mod! All of these mods are because this forum is such big help to a modest wrencher like me. Good luck to the rest of you!

I just looked at the list of mods I have done on the Boxster over the last 16 years. There are 38 of them. I honestly can't pick out my favorite. The steering wheel mod by carsdream.com with the leather air bag cover are very cool and the PSE with the cat deletes are up there though!
I am glad your exhaust mod worked out well David. It was my pleasure to help.

My favorite cosmetic mod is de-ambering, Ocean Blue looks way better with clean lights. My favorite functional mod is the OBC hack, super useful, use it every time I drive.

Probably for me the top speed 2nd cat delete pipes and Fister exhaust mod. What a sound!
My favorite maintenance (since I don't consider it a mod) was suspension refresh with Koni FSD and new control arms, etc. Transformed the car.

Edit: for mods, I should also add Ben's ball bearing shifter, transformed that aspect from acceptable to WOW.

Man. I'm a day late and a dollar short on almost everything that Fred/Charles have created .... dreaming of a headlight opportunity, center caps ... hell, even if he did a key fob, I'd be all over it! :P

No question, it's Fred's headlights. Totally rejuvenated the look of the car.

I'm happy with all the mods I've done. Glass window top, HID headlights, 3 spoke wheel, B&M short shifter, M030 sways, Koni FSD, S muffler, LNE spin on adaptor w/ filter mag and the S oil cooler to help the motor live. The one that is my favorite is the 18" carrera light wheels with MPSS tires, don't even have to drive, they really make the car IMHO.

New soft top with glass rear window - no more karate chop!
And Depo LED tail lights - they give the car a much more modern look.

Those two are my favourites. Especially the first one.
Of course all my mods have improved the car.
