Curios about this IMS rebuild...

I was reading through Niche's 2001 S for sale ad and saw this in the receipt:



Specifically I'm curious about the part I highlighted, "Cook the intermediate shaft... ...install open bearing." The engine builder looks like he has a great rep and knows what he was doing. Does this mean that the sprocket is TIG welded on the shaft and that the IMS bearing does not have any seals? Just splash lubed? Oil feed?

Looks like a nice car and a very good deal if you are looking for an upgraded S. If it had the red full leather interior, I'd be buying.
